His real name was Karol Wojtyla and he was born on May 18, 1920. Here he grew up, went to school and lived the greatest tragedies of his life - the death of his mother and brother Edmund, and here finally matured in him the decision to choose the path of life. He decided to join the seminar and from then bound his lifeto Krakow, what later led him to the St. Peter's throne in Rome. To commemorate the great Pole a small museum was created.It houses a collection of the Wojtyla family's memorabilia. The parish church of the Virgin Mary's Offertory where John Paul II was baptized is worth visiting too. |
